Starting in the plastics industry in 1982, Dave worked for various local injection moulding companies until switching to a technical sales role in 1994, when he began working for Hardie Polymers. As Technical Manager and then Technical Director of the Hardies dealership, Dave represented amongst others Demag, Wittmann Robotics, Jenco Material Handling, Nova Frigo, Mattec & Plasdan, as well as GE Polymerland for material sales. Following a 13 year period with Hardies, Dave switched to a more machine focussed full time role with Sumitomo-Demag, where he worked as an area sales manager for 7 years before moving to FANUC as Roboshot Sales Manager UK & Ireland.
