Plastics Live – A New Show, For A New Era

Ryan McCandless | September 30th, 2021

It has been a tough period for show organisers navigating the effects of the lockdowns due to COVID-19, but for the organisers of next year’s Plastics Live event (5-6 July 2022), the downtime has given them time to strategize, time to plan, time to create a new plastics show for a new era.

Scott Colman, MD at Plastics Live says, “ A number of us have been treading the boards at plastics trade shows for many years if not decades. And the over-riding feeling among my peers in the plastics industry, is that the existing event templates are tired, they need a refresh, they need an injection of enthusiasm and a focus on what the plastics industry really needs in this modern post-COVID world, where so many businesses are now operating leaner, and more efficiently. Listening to them is what has led to the launch of Plastics Live.

Plastics Live is for forward-thinking plastic manufacturers who are focused and committed to their future viability and profitability. The event will host four distinct sections, each seeking to highlight the potential of innovative plastic manufacturing: Plastics Live – looking at the best in traditional plastic manufacturing;  AMPLAS – looking at 3D printing in plastic; Industry 4.0 in Plastics – demonstrating how digitally connected operations are revolutionizing the factory floor; and Sustainable Plastics Live looking at the entire spectrum of environmental plastic issues and solutions.

According to the show’s organizers, the industry has been “much beleaguered” in recent years, but has also helped secure vital supply chains against COVID-19, making now the ideal time to publicize its potential.

Plastics Live’s launch partners show the depth and strength of support that the event has as it draws together the key areas of interest to plastic part manufacturers, and include: ENGEL, Hi-Tech Automation, FANUC, KUKA, Intouch, BioCote, Billion, Plastribution, Wittmann Battenfeld, Davis-Standard, Plastech, Spitfire AMS, PlastikCity, PlastikMedia, Jellypipe, Sierra 57, Geiger Handling Tantec, Forteq and Invotec Solutions.
